Distribution Manager
Location: Yerevan with trips in Armenia to project locations

Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension
The Distribution Manager reports to the Emergency Program Manager based in Yerevan and works closely with other relevant PIN Managers and Coordinators. The Distribution Manager represents PIN in coordination with stakeholders such as local administration and other actors involved in the sector activities. S/he may represent PIN in cluster and sub-cluster meetings at the national/regional levels if required.

People in Need (PIN) in the Czech Republic based NGO working in relief and development sectors. See more at www.peopleinneed.cz. Present in Armenia since 2003, PIN has been focusing on issues of illegal migration, repatriation assistance to returnees and prevention of child trafficking, and more recently, job creation and support to small businesses and tourism. In 2020 PIN launched an EU-funded program aiming to mitigate the adverse effects of COVID-19 and to contribute to the longer-term socio-economic resilience of vulnerable groups in Eastern Europe, including Armenia. PIN has activated an emergency response for Armenia in the early days of the conflict – mobilizing its HQ surge team and releasing private funding to launch immediate relief interventions in Syunik, Ararat, Armavir, and Tavush, focusing on distributing essential hygiene items including COVID-19 prevention items and messaging, launching a child-friendly space in Goris (Syunik region) as well as conducting a joint assessment with Alliance2015 partner ACTED and REACH. PIN continues with the response and prepares for the scale-up of the response. PIN has offices in Yerevan, Goris, and Gyumri.About the role:
The Distribution Manager primarily focuses on the identification and implementation of distribution activities in Armenia, ensures quality programming that responds to the needs of vulnerable people. S/he is expected to continually validate and adopt the operation to field reality. The Manager also ensures strong collaboration and coordination with other stakeholders, such as local administration and other actors involved in the sector activities. S/he may represent PIN in the cluster and sub-cluster meetings at the national/regional levels if required.The Distribution Manager reports to the Emergency Program Manager based in Yerevan and works closely with other relevant PIN Managers and Coordinators. Tasks and responsibilities:
- Plans and implements the project Distributions in collaboration with the Program Manager.
- Manages field Coordinators in Yerevan and Goris and supervises the implementation of the project distributions.
- Ensures timely collection and analysis of beneficiary data from all implementation regions for planning and reporting,
- In coordination with the Project manager designs SOP’s for distribution activities
- Assists in ensuring that project activities are aligned with donor commitments, humanitarian standards, with sensitivity to the needs of program beneficiaries.
- continuously informs the management about progress in project implementation, prepares reports about the situation in field
- ensures project activities continue in absence of the Program Manager.
- collects relevant information from local communities.
- assists field staff in meetings with beneficiaries as part of ad-hoc monitoring;
- supports Program Manager in meetings with representatives of authorities, other NGOs, clusters/UN;
- provides assistance to the implementing partners (i.e. local administration, community groups)
- archives acquired and entrusted documents and materials in a proper manner
- takes on other duties when assigned by Program Manager
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience
- English language
- Experience in implementing humanitarian/development projects.
Desirable skills
- Proven capacity to supervise staff.
- Ability to work independently and reach targets
- Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically.
- Approachable, good listener, builds and maintains effective relationships with colleagues, team members and external partners including at community level
