Position Title: Facilitator, Child Friendly Spaces (CFS)
Location: Aygehovit and Achajur Settlements, Ijevan Consolidated Community, Tavush Province, Armenia
Organisation: People in Need (PIN)
Background: People in Need (PIN) is implementing child-focused programs aimed at promoting children's well-being, psychosocial development, inclusion, and participation through Child Friendly Spaces (CFS). The centers provide safe and supportive environments where children can participate in educational, recreational, psychosocial, and developmental activities tailored to their needs and interests.
PIN seeks to recruit a qualified and motivated Facilitator to support the daily operation of the Child Friendly Spaces established in Aygehovit and Achajur settlements.

Objectives of the Position
The Facilitator will be responsible for organizing and conducting activities in the Child Friendly Spaces, ensuring children's active participation, safety, inclusion, and well-being while promoting a child-centered and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
The Facilitator will:
  • Register children attending the Child Friendly Spaces and maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Organize and facilitate age-appropriate group activities and sessions from Monday to Friday.
  • Apply an individual approach to each child and ensure the active participation of all children in planned activities.
  • Promote inclusion, and equal participation of children regardless of age, gender, abilities, or background.
  • Design and implement activities that respond to the needs, interests, and developmental stages of children.
  • Ensure meaningful child participation and engagement during all center activities.
  • Identify children who may be facing health, protection, psychosocial, or developmental risks and promptly report concerns to the relevant specialists or People in Need staff following established procedures.
  • Ensure children's safety and well-being during all group activities and center operations.
  • Maintain and submit required documentation, including attendance sheets, activity records, and monthly reports.
  • Participate in trainings, capacity-building activities, meetings, and other events organized by People in Need and the Municipality.
  • Support community engagement and foster positive relationships with children, caregivers, community members, and local stakeholders.
  • Carry out any other duties reasonably assigned by People in Need related to the objectives of the Child Friendly Space.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Secondary education, vocational education, or university degree in education, psychology, social work, pedagogy, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with children, youth programs, educational activities, recreational programs, or community-based initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly environment.
  • Understanding of child protection principles and safeguarding standards is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Armenian language is required; knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
  • Good organizational and reporting skills.

Duration of Assignment
The contract is expected to commence upon recruitment and will remain in effect until 31 January 2027. Continuation of the engagement beyond this date may be considered subject to the availability of funding and the Municipality's decision to sustain the operation of the Child Friendly Space. Any extension will be formalized through a separate agreement and will be contingent upon satisfactory performance and operational needs.
Reporting Line
The Facilitator will report directly to the designated People in Need Project Program Team within the duration of the project.

Safeguarding Statement

Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on the criteria below:

Selection Process

The recruitment process will consist of:
Stage 1: Administrative Compliance Check
  • Verification of completeness of application package.
  • Verification that minimum eligibility requirements are met.
Stage 2: Technical Evaluation (Maximum 70 Points)
  • Assessment of education, professional experience, and relevant competencies based on CV and cover letter.
Stage 3: Interview (Maximum 30 Points) Candidates shortlisted from the technical evaluation will be invited for an interview. The interview will assess:
  • Facilitation and communication skills;
  • Child-centered and inclusive approaches;
  • Understanding of child safeguarding and protection principles;
  • Problem-solving and ability to manage group dynamics;
  • Motivation and commitment to working with children.
Minimum Qualifying Score
Candidates must achieve:
  • At least 50 points out of 70 in the technical evaluation to be shortlisted for interview.
  • A minimum overall score of 70 points out of 100 to be considered for selection.
Preferred Attributes
Additional consideration may be given to candidates who:
  • Reside in or near Aygehovit or Achajur settlements;
  • Have previous experience working in Child Friendly Spaces, educational centers, kindergartens, schools, or psychosocial support programs;
  • Have completed training on child protection, safeguarding, inclusion, disability inclusion, or psychosocial support.
This evaluation framework provides a transparent and objective basis for selecting the most qualified facilitator while ensuring alignment with child protection and quality programming standards.
