SME՛s will make woolen clothing, blankets, pillows, bags and other accessories by using the wool of Amasia Wool Factory founded under the same project.

On October 4, new established 4 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) received a grant to operate in the wool value chain within the "EU4Shirak: Wool for Jobs" project. 24 vacancies to be created thanks to the grants. The overall cost of the grant is around 31 million drams.

To mention, the wool produced in Amasia and neighboring villages is known for unique  colors. This makes it ideally suited for production of carpets, rugs and various textiles.

“EU4Shirak: Wool for Jobs” project was launched in March 2018 and will continue until March 2020. It is co-funded by the European Union and the Government of Armenia and implemented by People in Need, together with Women's Development "Resource Center" Foundation, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Shirak Region, and Amasia Municipality.
