Community Development through Participatory New Models: New Social Services in Syunik, Armenia

The Syunik region is expanding its social services by introducing new delivery formats that complement programmes run by local civil society organisations.

People in Need (PIN) is an international non-governmental organisation, founded in 1992 in the Czech Republic. We implement humanitarian and long-term development programmes in more than 30 countries across the globe.

PIN first came to Armenia with a humanitarian initiative during the devastating Spitak earthquake, even before the organisation was formally registered by its founders.

In 2003, the PIN Armenia office was officially established. Since then, we have been supporting the development of an active civil society, promoting inclusive governance, advancing sustainable livelihoods and environmental resilience, and providing timely humanitarian assistance to communities affected by crisis across Armenia.
